Looks like I found another one. I don't know much about these pipes yet. I have some questions into Staintune but haven't heard anything back yet. I have to say I really like these pipes and the crossover pipe on the cat eliminator is a nice bit as well.

I'll let you know if I find out more.

btw, what happened to the youtube embedding?

(Boomer edit:) It works perfectly (see below). You just need to copy the "embed" code fronm Youtube into your post and voila!

wow now those are a great sounding set of pipes. and for those who dont know staintune's quality is as good as it comes. great stuff. only problem is there can be a bit pricey. i am glad i ordered the bc pipes or i would not know what to do after hearing those. wonder how they do for power

If the quality is as good as the uploaded vid they will be top notch.
However, for me they are too loud. Wife would not approve
But I guess if the cat stays in place they will be ok, in fact I think any exhaust will be ok for me with cat in place.
Thats the biggest muffler, no ?

I agree. But for me it seems like every set i hear that i like, the more i like them the uglier they are ! These are my fav so far as sound goes, but they're also about as ugly a pipe as i can imagine. It reminds me of that simpsons episode where homer's long lost brother hires him to design a new car for the car company he owns. These pipes look like what homer would have come up with had he been commissioned to design them.

Ok, I've got some (very little) info with dyno

At this stage the system is still in development, however we should have
them available in about 4 weeks. The video we have posted on youtube does
show our final prototype fitted to a bike using the standard triumph map, we
will be testing next week with a triumph performance download. I have
attached a copy of the dyno results with the standard map for you and if you
send me back another email next week I should be able to give you the other
results. Pricing has not yet been set, but the mufflers and collector will
be sold as a set. Thanks for the enquiry.

I love that this dyno is a straight tune for tune comparison. Nice torque gains with just the pipe. It will be interesting to see what happens with the TOR tune

Just a bit more info....

For you European and Cali types I asked a further question. I asked about the pipes being able to mount to the cat directly and not bypass it. I got this response.

even though they will be sold as a set the mufflers will bolt straight
on to the stock catalytic converter for European and Californian owners.

So, there ya go.

Ah Thatch, you beat me to it.

I have been checking out Staintune's site every few days but nothing and I was wondering why.
Your post explains it.
Thanks and also thanks for checking out the Euro (and Cali) details.

Staintune have always made a top class product.
Am I wrong in thinking these pipes make the bike sound a bit Harleyish?

I don't think you wrong, have the same feeling.
In fact when I was writing my initial response I wrote "that sounds like a Harley" but I took it out as it is irrelevant.
But I think so too. But I also think the sound is made because, like the Harley there are 2 cylinders firing away, and if you open everything up this is what you hear and reminds us of the typical Harley sound.

Damn. Ah well, seems like the same as what happened with BC. Lots of interested questions plus not enough answers equals 'pull the video'.

Hopefully they'll have something new up soon. They are promising looking pipes.

These are my favorites so far, but they're just ugly as a harley rider. Eddy, and chance you could ask them to solicit opinions on them? Maybe it's just me, but if a lot of people feel the same they'd sell a lot more if they could change those hideous ends. Maybe it's not possible to do that and still retain the same tone and performance. But As much as i like these, (easily my fav so far) i hate to say it but it's very unlikely i would buy them because of those ends.

The bonnies, thruxtons and R3 touring aren't like that. the speedy/america have the inner pipe as do the regular R3 ones, but the thing i hate about these Tbird ones that none of those other triumph models have is that the entire inner baffle doesn't just show, it sticks out 3-5 inches out of the pipe's main outer shell. Just looks nasty to me. I suppose i could get used to it if the benefits are worth it, but everything with all the pipes still remains to be seen.

Very nice sound... Seems like the longer we wait the better these pipes are getting!! The question is not if I will eventually get an after market pipe, but when!

Cheers,

mate more than happy with the pipes. They sound awsome. Now ive down 3000km the moter has loosened up and man do they roar or what. Sound better than any harley out there. Nothing beats pulling up next to a harley and gunning it and watchen them in the rearview mirror. The bird flys and is as mean as fuck. You wait until you get your own beast and youll know what i mean.
